After leaving my corporate marketing job earlier this year, I thought I would be content to start and grow She Wears a Dress, not really worrying too much about monetizing it, just enjoying discovering and writing about new places to go, things to wear, and people to see. What I soon discovered, is that in order to actually do all of these things, I needed a way to fund these adventures :) In addition, all the time spent researching the latest in fashion and what’s new in store, I realized how much I missed being really immersed in retail and decided to dip my toe back in the pool. About a month ago, I decided to take a job in sales in the dress department (go figure) at Nordstrom, which houses most of the brands I love all under one roof! It has been both exhilarating and exhausting; I had conveniently forgot what its like to run around in heels for 8 hours a day! At the same time, I love the environment and being able to talk to customers and actually see and hear what people like and don’t like, both about clothes, cosmetics and accessories and a lot of the times about themselves. It is truly an eye opening experience and one that I hope translates into interesting and insightful content. More importantly, I can continue to visit, shop, dine, entertain and share with you!
