I’ve had a signature scent for as long as I can remember, Coco by Chanel, and although I have always admired other fragrances women wear, nothing ever seems to smell as good to me, or on me, as my beloved Coco. It’s become part of my uniform and I honestly never feel quite the same without it. Nevertheless, as the seasons change, I am always eager to try out the newest fragrances and this Spring has some really wonderful ones to choose from. Here are five of my favorites.
Chance Eau Tendre by Chanel is my favorite so far, I guess I am partial to the Chanel line as it combines with the natural scent of my skin so well. While it is light and feminine, it still has a sultry kick to it that I was really drawn to. It is correctly described as “at once, innocent and seductive.”
Signorina Eleganza by Salvatore Ferragamo is a close second. One whiff of this and I was taken back to our recent holiday in Italy. The smells in Italy are completely intoxicating and this fragrance has the perfect combination of something…was developed to “celebrate the most refined aspects of feminitiy.” Eleganza indeed!
Calvin Klein’s latest, Endless Euphoria, was created as the daytime counterpart to their existing Euphoria to “translate the provactive fantasy into a sunlit daydream.” I found this to be very appealing because it starts out light with the scent of cherry blossoms, but the base is a mixture of bamboo, sandalwood and musk so it has a very sultry finish. I’m all about the sultry finish!
Tory Burch does not disappoint with her first fragrance, its classic and embodies the brands style, feminine tomboy. I find myself drawn to these fragrances that blend the bright floral notes, yet have a masculine scent at the base. Tory Burch mixes peony and orange blossoms with vetiver and sandalwood and it makes for a very modern scent.
Dolce by Dolce & Gabbana was created from a memory and the accompanying video is so captivating, it made me want to run out and not only buy the fragrance, but hop on a plane to Sicily to partake in the lemon harvest myself. I think that is what a truly unique fragrance should do, take you away. Dolce is a light and feminine fragrance with a mix of white flowers and unique in that it is the first fragrance to use the South African white amaryllis in a scent. It also has a base of cashmere, musk and sandalwood which adds just the right amount of earthiness.
